Heading off to the Sunshine Coast of QLD and on to 1770 . Duration two weeks. First trip with the Sahara,will be interesting to see how it performs verses the Prado.

Day 1-Sunday 21/9/12

Headed off to Coffs 7.20 am -Stopped at Twelve Mile Creek Rest area just outside Raymond Terrace Probably about 12 miles! Stayed for about 40mins.
Arrived Coffs at 2.50pm Stayed at Park Beach Caravan Park Coffs Harbour over night Weather fine and sunny 22c.
Traffic was very light all the way and the Sahara towed like a dream.
Fuel consumption was 15.8 ltrs per 100klm

Day 2 Monday 22/9/12

Departed Coffs 7.30, weather fine and sunny 18c at 8.00am
Traveled to Cotton Tree Point Maroochydore....No stops!
Traffic heavy all the way with a lot of road works between Coffs and Woodburn,fuelled up at Woodburn . Traffic still heavy all the way through to Maroochydore. Arrived 1.50 pm. Car went like a dream. Fuel consumption, 16/100.

Day 3-Tuesday 23/9/12

First day at Cotton Tree
What a great spot, some photos of the view from our site. We are 15 metres from the beach. Park is pretty full down near the water but plenty of vacant sites towards the back.Park and amenities are very clean....Would rate park an 8.5/10

Bush Turkeys are giving some grief to the camper folk!
Weather got up to 25c and no wind!

Day 4 -Wed 24/9/12

Went for a drive into the Hinterland, up to Meleny and the Glass House Mountains. Weather a bit chilly (16c) but soon got up to 24c. Returned back via Gympie
Visited Nana Joan and then on to Jennies for dinner. Pizza!

Days 5 to 9 -Thurs,Fri,Sat,Sun' Mon

Thursday .....was nice day temp got up to 25c.
Big drama ....A number of Bush Turkeys were found dead this morning .We all think its some disgruntled camper getting their back! No one seams disturbed about it.Sorry Turkeys.
Just relaxed today and Lizzie went fishing again but no luck.

Friday .....was another great day again in the low 20s, however we were warned by folk who have been here in the park...

Day 10 Tuesday 30/9

Left Cotton Tree at 8.30am to travel to Coffs.Weather very overcast with light rain.....Temperature About 20c
Meeting Michelle and Tom at Woodburn for lunch .Very heavy rain on the Bruce Hwy between Beewah &Brisbane Arrived at Woodburn 12.30 and had lunch with the Kids. Had the best Aussie hamburger for ages! Left at 1.30 to travel on to Coffs . Weather fine down here.

Day 9&10-Wed/Thurs

Stayed at Park Beach.Weather great around 24c,walked all the way to the top of the big hill which is Mutton Bird Island Reserve ,6.5ks return. Leaving Friday as they have 60 new arrivals .Kids School Holidays start ! Dinner...Went back to the Co-Op for Fish and Chips!

Park is currently only about 25% occupancy so it's very comfortable, as usual all amenities and park are clean. Bit sad to be going back...

Day 11- Friday 3/10

Left Coffs at 8.00am to get home before peak traffic at Pennant Hills.
Good run ......arrived home at 2.30pm.
Lot of traffic going north as its not only the start of the school holidays but also a long week-end.
